The Top 8 Activities to do in Singapore!

Updated: 18 hours ago

Singapore offers a wide range of exciting and unique activities, making any trip to this country truly memorable. Today, we'll explore the 8 best activities we took part in and explain why they are must-do additions to your Singapore itinerary. So, without further ado, let's dive in!

#1 Make your own perfume

This was definitely one of Bree and I's favourite activities we had done on our travels, not only because it was fun but also quite unique. At a place called 'Oo La Lab' you get to be a perfume mixologist and create your own personalised scent by mixing various fragrances. Afterwards you get to take home the perfume you have created and label it with it's on personalised name! Although the experience is quite expensive ($110 Aud to be exact) if you are looking for a really unique activity or a date night idea then this is a perfect option!

#2 Universal Studios

Singapore is home to one of the most world renowned attractions in Universal Studios. It is most notably known for its unique attractions such as a Shrek themed world and the dualling roller coaster ride called Battlestar Galactica. From our experience you will only need one day at this park to be able to see almost everything it has to offer especially if you go on a non peak day (Check out their crowd calendar to see what the peak and non peak days are). It was definitely a really fun day out and we would recommend you visit it on your next trip to Singapore!

#3 Aj Hackett Giant Swing

If you're not familiar, AJ Hackett is a New Zealand owned company that offers exciting adrenaline experiences. Fortunately for us they have a location operating on Sentosa Island in Singapore! Here you can choose to either Bungee Jump or take part in their Giant Swing. For us we got a great deal on Klook for the Giant Swing and having already ticked Bungee Jumping off our bucket list, so this was a no brainer.

Our experience was truly exhilarating; the initial drop was a bit scary, but once we were soaring through the air, it was incredibly fun and we would highly recommend experiencing it for yourself!

#4 Garden by the Bay Light Show

One of the most famous attractions in Singapore is the stunning display of nature at Gardens by the Bay. Here you can spend time exploring the area and marvel at the incredible vertical garden trees. For a fee of $14SGD, you can also experience the canopy bridge which offers a unique perspective from above. However our personal favourite part is the Light show called Garden Rhapsody which is showcased every night at 7:45pm and 8:45pm. While the show is impressive, it tends to attract a large crowd, so arriving early is recommended to secure a good viewing spot.

#5 Escape Rooms

Bree and I are huge fans of Escape rooms and Singapore is known for having some of the best. In case you're not familiar, an escape room involves being locked in a room for about an hour, where you have to search for clues and solve puzzles to escape. The good news is that in Singapore, most, if not all, escape rooms are designed for English speakers, so there's no need to worry about language barriers. During our time in Singapore, we couldn't try every escape room, but the two we experienced were truly amazing and definitely worth recommending. The first one was at 'Trapped', where we tried 'The Strangest Things' room, themed after the popular TV show Stranger Things. It was quite challenging, and we barely made it out, so be sure to bring your A game for that one! The second one was at 'The Escape Artist' in the HarbourFront Centre (near Sentosa island), where we played 'Trapped Again'. Despite its simple design, it had many exciting puzzles and cool elements that still leave me impressed to this day. If you decide to visit these escape rooms, I'd love to hear about your experience. Feel free to leave a comment below!

#6 Skyline Luge

One popular thrill activity in Singapore's Sentosa Island is Luging, a New Zealand-born attraction. Luging involves driving a small go-kart-like vehicle down various downhill tracks, providing an exhilarating experience. It's definitely one of Bree's and I's favorite activities, and we highly recommend purchasing the 4-track pass for $29SGD so you get to experience all 4 tracks! Due to it's popularity, we would also suggest that you get there at opening time (11am) to avoid the long lines.

#7 Wings of Time Light Show

When in Singapore, don't miss the opportunity to see the number one outdoor night show, Wings of Time, on Sentosa Island. You'll be amazed by the 3D projection mapping and state-of-the-art lasers that illuminate the fountains and water jets, creating a captivating music production. It's a truly unique and interesting experience that we highly recommend checking out. You can easily get affordable tickets for the show on Klook!

#8 The Spectra Light Show

If the wings of time show wasn't enough then the Spectra Light Show may just seal the deal. The show is situated by the water near the iconic Marina Bay Sands. The best part is, it's completely free, so no ticket is needed! Just head over at 8 or 9pm, with an additional show at 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, to experience this amazing display.
